Summer Events

As we are growing our community here at Sky’s Limit CrossFit, we figured it would be helpful to announce the events we’ll be participating in and holding throughout the Summer. There’s a lot going on, and we hope members and non-members a like will join us for some workouts, fun, and charity events.

First off – every Saturday if there isn’t a special event, we’ll have a group WOD at 10 am. We like to mix it up a little from what we’ve been doing during the week; team competitions and different workout formats to start the weekend off with a different kind of party. Yesterday we were able to accomplish 10,000 meters of running, 1,000 feet of prowler pushing, 1,500 + sledge hammer swings, 800 kettle bell swings, 800 goblet squats, 800 sumo deadlift high pulls, and a ton of thrusters, all with the creative teamwork of 11 people working together to get the job done over about 40 minutes of nonstop work.

Saturday June 25th – “Work hard – Play hard”: We’ll meet for a group WOD in the morning as usual, but invite everyone to the Clarette Club in Mission, Kansas that afternoon for free pool from noon to 4 pm.

Saturday July 1st – We’ll be doing a Hero WOD to celebrate Independence Day (on Saturday), and BBQ following the workout. We’ll provide meat, everyone who wants to stay to eat, bring a side item.

Saturday July 30th – “Warrior Dash“: Registration for the Saturday waves are full, but we’d like to get a crew together that is already planning on participating in Saturday’s Warrior Dash to gather beforehand and go out there to represent. Let Coach Ronnie know your wave time so we can plan when to meet up at the gym and head out there together and cheer each other on.

Saturday August 6thMarch of Dimes fundraiser. We’ll be doing a group WOD but charging a donation fee for participation, which will go to the Kansas City chapter of March of Dimes. More details to come, but if you can only make one event this summer, choose this one to be a part of a great cause benefitting Kansas City babies and their families.

Saturday September 17th – “Fight Gone Bad 6” CrossFit affiliates across the country will be participating in the Fight Gone Bad workout to raise money for both the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and the CrossFit Foundation. More details to follow.
